CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
Security is an important issue in any organization that has computers hooked up to a network and the Internet. The necessity of computer and information security is high as hacking is in increase, credit-card information being stolen, virus attack, web sites are defaced and denial-of-service attack. This certification course helps an individual achieve technical ability, knowledge and experience to implement solid security practices, perform risk analysis, identify necessary countermeasures and help the organization as a whole protect its facility, network, systems and information. This course prepares the candidate for CISSP exam.

Course Highlights
International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 developed the CISSP test program. The exam covers following 10 domains that make up Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).

  • Telecommunications and Network Security
  • Security Management Practices
  • Application and Systems Development Security
  • Cryptography
  • Security Architecture and Models
  • Operations Security
  • Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning
  • Laws, Investigations and Ethics
  • Physical Security

Duration
It consists of 42 hours of instructor led and hands-on class which can be completed in 7 days (full time) or 7 weeks (part time).

Who can attend this course?
The individuals or IT professionals who want to advance their careers in computer security can take this course. This course requires a basic knowledge of TCP/IP and networking terminology.

Certification Requirements
The candidate must have three years of direct work experience in one or more of the ten domains that make CBK. The certification exam will include questions from all the ten domains so the candidate should have knowledge on all of them. The exam will have 250 questions and candidates are given up to 6 hours to complete it.

Computer and information security is a hot issue and there is a growing demand in this field. CISSP certification opens avenue for an individual to get job as a computer security expert or information security consultant.
